Submission guidelines:

Oklahoma City Theatre Company is proud to present its Third Annual Native American New Play Festival. Three finalists will be selected from submitted plays which meet the criteria outlined below. These selected plays will then be presented in a readers' theatre format which will be open to the public. Audience feedback is encouraged. The play selected as the most outstanding will receive a production at our theatre - most likely to be scheduled for the following season.

. · Submission deadline for the 2012 NPF is Jan. 15, 2012. Scripts received after that date will be considered for the following year.

· Playwright must be a registered Native American on a federally recognized roll.

· Must be a full-length play without a prior full production.

· E-mail/ Send brief synopsis together with a complete manuscript. Please include a contact phone number and e-mail address on the play's title page

· Dramas, comedies and farces are all welcome.

· Playwrights who are questioning whether or not their play is a good match for OCTC are strongly encouraged to contact Rick Nelson at richard@okctc.org before submitting.

· All plays that are not selected for the festival will be recycled. Please do not include any type of return postage. Please check our website by February 1st for announcement of current year's winners.

· All serious submissions are read by at least two readers. Please be advised that the following are not considered serious submissions:

o Screenplays or teleplays submitted as theatrical plays

o Obvious first drafts

o Plays with typos and spelling errors

o Plays that are not formatted according to industry standards

Notification: We appreciate you offering our theatre the opportunity to consider your work. Our Artisitc Director screens submissions for eligibility and for content as they are received.

OCTC and The Native American New Play Festival is pleased to announce that DIRTY LAUNDRY by Ranell Collins has been selected for production for the second annual Native American New Play Fest. The play will be shown in conjunction with the New Play Festival March 25-April 3, 2011. Tickets may be purchased at the Civic Center Music Hall box office.

We are also proud to announce the selections for the 2011 New Play Festival readings.

An Inside Strait by Bret Jones reading is Saturday April 2 at 1pm in the Cityspace Theatre.

Salvage by Diane Glancy reading is Sunday April 3 at 1pm in the Cityspace Theatre.

Admission is FREE to the readings.
